Let nature be your teacher

FAQs

  • Our only cover is the pavilion located on site. Our goal is for the students to be in nature, exploring hands-on in the elements.

  • Classes will continue outside in most weather. If there is a threat of lightning, tornados or temperatures in the single digits, classes will be canceled for that day. Canceled days will be made up at the end of the year. We will also provide activities and resources for parents to do with their children at home.

  • Prepare for the elements of nature dependent upon the season. For colder weather, we recommend packing extra layers of clothing along with gloves and insulated boots. During the warmer seasons, we recommend preparing for your child to be wet, muddy and/or dirty.

Please see our Policies and Gear form below.

  • Extended time in nature has wide range of social, emotional and physical benefits for children. It offers a different type of learning that meets the needs of all the students.

  • All staff are trained in First Aid and CPR. We carry cellphones, walkie talkies and First Aid kits. Our low teacher to student ratio allows us to keep a close eye on students. In the event that an accident occurs, parents will be notified immediately.

  • We have a small porta potty for students to use on site. All students must be toilet trained for our PreK programs.

  • Parents will be notified in advance of the cancellation. Classes will be made up at the end of the school year. Resources and activities will be provided as well for parents to do with the students for that day.
